I had an enteresting discussion with a friend of mine who is athiest but is very knowledgeable in various religous beliefs. I call myself a lone ranger Christain with occational doubts as many often have. I find church and organized religion often too political for myself and when my friend began to talk about the ” Gnostics” and explain to me the basics of it , I found it fascinateing. I am excited about reading up on this and see what I come to think of it. Thank you for providing the information here to get started |

Much like last summer’s The Karate Kid remake, where you know what’s on the horizon all movie, the journey the characters take to get there sucks you in and melts the inherent predictability away. |

Indeed, I make such superlative use of language that even WILLFUL IGNORANCE is not really enough to DEFEAT me, IRONICALLY enough, by DEFAULT. |

I have been a gnostic and did not know it for years in the orthodox anglican church. Elaine Pagels “The Gnostic Gospels” is an eye opener. I think any orthodox mainline church could accommodate gnosticism without a great deal of upheaval. It’s all there, buried in the Eucharist, it just needs freeing. I am trying to do so in Vancouver. |
